SIGNED BY AUTHOR. 167 pages, the First Edition, with index, notes on sources, and endpaper maps, plus 48 pages of photo illustrations. The book is SIGNED on the first blank front endpaper by author GILES FRENCH; the opposite half-title page has the former owner's name across the top. (In an interesting association the former owner was a relative of Elizabeth Lambert Wood, who wrote the earlier work PETE FRENCH, CATTLE KING). A Very Good Plus hardcover (no jacket) in reddish boards with black lettering, and, with the exception of the signatures, this is a bright, near fine, clean and solid volume. A WORK OF TRUE HISTORY ABOUT CATTLEMAN PETER FRENCH AND HIS CONTEMPORARIES WHO DEVELOPED THE GREAT STOCK RANCHES IN SOUTHEASTERN OREGON IN THE LATE NINETEENTH CENTURY. .
