Kansas City, MO: Sheed Andrews and McMeel, Inc, 1978. Hardcover. 8vo. Red paper over boards with silver spine letteriong, dust jacket. 196pp. Near fine/very good. Mildest bit of jacket edgewear, with faint dampstain on verso near tail of spine and single archivally closed (on verso) edge tear to rear panel. A tight and quite lovely first edition of this study by the youngest son of Menninger Clinic co-founder William C. Menninger (1899-1966), himself also a noted psychiatrist known as "Dr. Walt" (born 1931). Fine presentation inscription and signature in black fineline on front flyleaf to elder brother: "For Phil & Georgia / with affection / Walt / (& Connie) / Dec 1978." Philip B. Menninger (1928-2016) was William's middle child and long-time Menninger Clinic staffer and Georgia (1933-2015) his wife.
