Illustrated with 14 sepia plates, facsimile of the original title page, and large fold out map. The book has related material on railroad explorations and Indian affairs by Edward F. Beale, Thomas H. Benton, Kit Carson and Col. E.A. Hitchcock. Edited, with introduction and notes by LeRoy R. Hafen and Ann W. Hafen. Covers are slightly bowed out. Endpaper in front is a little darkened along gutter. Overall quite a nice copy. Part of the Far West and the Rockies Historical Series 1820-1875, Volume VII. . Very Good. Hardcover. 1957.
