About This Item
Hardcover first edition, with dust jacket, published by Dutton, 1956. This is an Ex-Library copy. Chronicle of three centuries of Santa Fe history. Here are profiled the various groups of people who have made an impact on Santa Fe; Native American, Mexican, Spanish, Anglo-American, as well as specific individuals such as Franciscan Father President, Captain-General de Vargas, Juan Lamy, and many others. 364 pages with Index and Bibliography. Cover art as well as the chapter heading illustrations are by the author. The dust jacket is intact, and is not price clipped. It does show a library Dewey call number sticker on the spine. Edge wear and crease marks, a 1" tear at the top edge of the back panel. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Sturdy black cloth covered boards, with the author name and title imprinted on the spine. Cover boards are flat, corners are not creased or bumped - there is some light edge wear to the head and heel of the spine. Top edge of the text block red-top-stain shows some fading, bottom edge has some scribbling in blue pen, and three red pen ink marks. As a library discard there is a due date pocket on the back fly leaf page. No writing on the text pages. A good reading copy. Attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.
