This is a bound volume of six issues of "The Century Illustrated Monthly Magazine" from November 1889 to April 1890, Volume XVII. The issues are illustrated and contain works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, etc. Three-quarter leather binding with marbled end papers, and gilt lettering and four raised bands on the spine. The volume is profusely illustrated with photographs, drawings and maps throughout.
The November, 1889 issue contains the first appearance of Mark Twain's classic "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur Court's" (prior to the publication of the book). As the book was being typeset, Twain selected four excerpts from the story to appear in the November issue. Condition:
Clean covers and spine. Some rubbing of the leather along the edges of the spine ; there are some small scuffs to the leather below the title on the spine. Light wear to the top 2 cover corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Nice interior - the pages are clean with no notable issues found. Overall the volume is in Very Good+ condition.
