About This Item

Paris: Maeght, 1954. This is the most sought after Triple Number of the CHAGALL DERRIÈRE LE MIROIR
(NO. 66-67-68).
Rare First Edition of a modernist magazine presenting the cutting edge of art of MARC CHAGALL of the time and today.

In the publisher's original loosely assembled folio format, 28 cm x 38 cm on wove paper, a very good copy. The colours of the Lithographs are still very vibrant reflecting the dynamic and exciting style of CHAGALL.
The magazine shows some light edgewear on the spine, mild creasing, and slight age discolouration. There are some minor white chips on the back cover where some rubbing occurred
This rare folio includes all NINE glorious Mourlot printed colour Lithographs and TWO in black and white for this Paris themed edition. Included are twelve pages of text in French by Marcel Arland and Lionello Venturi.

This volume, published by Aimé Maeght, accompanies Chagall's "Paris" exhibition of works from 1952-1954.

One of only 2500 from the unnumbered series, an exquisite and rare addition for all lovers of Marc Chagall.
