About This Item
Fullerton, CA: Image Comics, 1998. 1st printings. Saddle-stapled wraps. Light shelfwear. Near Fine. Six issues each [24]pp., with semi-glossy color covers and b/w interior. An exploration of a U.S. society enslaved by its media. Jennie 2.5's pirate TV station seeks to inflame and reinform the people of a totalitarian, Christian, right-wing state. Can video anarchy succeed in a struggle where the very act of fighting the system makes you a part of the system, and where anti-status quo broadcasts have the highest viewing figures, and therefore are those most sought after by the commercial infrastructure for their ad spots? Genuinely challenging and intriguing, with an inspired use of typography to augment the multimedia theme of the story.
