Three volumes in similar condition: blue cloth stamped in silver and dark blue, cloth appears toned spine and edges, no dustjacket, previous owner name in neat ink front pastedown, light to moderate tanning, dust top edge, toning and light to moderate soil fore edge, sound binding. King Charles and King Pym: a few markings noted in pencil and ink.

Bound in light blue cloth with a dark blue printed label, pale yellow endpapers, no dw, b/w frontis portrait showing Charles as a boy of 13, 12 b/w photograph plates,361pp. Charles, the third child of James I and Anne, Princess of Denmark and Queen of Scotland, suffered from stammering. Unlike his brother he was bookish and not inclined to sport, hunting or to fighting. This is the story of Charles from childhood to his downfall and execution. Slight scuffing to tips of spine.
