Sydney: Angus & Robertson, 1944. Hardback octavo, no jacket, good plus condition, blue cloth cover, endpapers & pages lightly toned, top edge foxed, minimal foxing fore-edge, bottom corners two pages creased, covers little scratched, bookplate inside front cover, minor written corrections, autograph (author's written name). 146 pp. Lt-Commander Geoffrey. C. Ingleton provides a fascinating examination of early Australian maritime surveys (some little known), and the importance of these surveys to the safety of ships and their crews. The author attempts to show that most of these Australian surveys were made many years ago, and that new surveys are urgently required.
