Orig. grey cloth, gilt decoration to front board. 138 pp. [13] of 14 B&W plates w/ tissue guards. (plate XI is duplicated, lacking plate XII). Spine shaken. Light chafing to extremities, bumping to corners, rubbing to gilt at front board. Offsetting to half-title at gutter. Inner hinge cracked at p. 97. Newspaper clipping entitled "Gradually Frozen, Fish Lives in Ice", some offsetting to pp. 26-27 from clipping. Long crease to p. 27. Some pencil notation. Tears to gutter of tissue guard at plate XI, plate loose.
