EX-LIBRARY, showing only some rubber stamps at the front free endpaper and a number in ink at the backstrip. Binding shows only slightest spine lean; moderate wear to extremities; faint soiling; backstrip shows light sunning, but gilt titles thereon remain bold and clearly legible; pages somewhat tanned. Binding secure; text clean. Overall, remains a clean and sturdy; a good reading copy. NOT a Remainder or Book-Club. 8vo. 315pp. Hardback: Lacks DJ. Orange cloth over boards. This English edition, for which the printing date given is only an estimation, is "based on an MS by Ludek Pachman" since several contributors assisted with the revised text, including Robert Bellin and G.H.Bennett. Examines the Indian Defences, including amongst others: the Nimzo-Indian Defence, Queen's Indian, Indian Catalan, King's Indian Defence, Tchigoin Indian Defence, and the Benoni.
