New York: W. W. Norton & Company, 1981. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Fair/fine. Octavo, 427pp. The rare signed limited edition, bound in white cloth, and SIGNED by Woods on the limitation leaf in presentation to one Janet I. Thomiszer (?), this being number 34 of just 50 copies printed for the author to distribute as presentation copies. In fair condition only, with significant insect damage to the front board and board edges, but internally clean and sound. Some mild droplet staining to the top edge. In an inexplicably fine dust jacket, price-clipped, but presenting nicely thus. Woods's first book, winner of the Edgar Award, and considered by many to endure as his best effort. A colleague of ours with more than five decades of bookselling experience in the south informs us that he has only ever seen one copy. Rare, but flawed, and priced accordingly.
Synopsis
