Pictorial hardcover with blue cloth spine. Stories and verse about various figures in American Revolutionary War history and black and white illustrations by Mabel Humphrey of children dressing up and reenacting these scenes. Twelve full-page chromolithograph plates by Maud Humphrey (Mabel's sister and Humphrey Bogart's mother). Scenes and stories include Martha Washington pouring tea, the surrender of Cornwallis, Washington Crossing the Delaware, Lafayette dancing the Minuet, Moll Pitcher, Betsy Ross, Paul Revere's ride, the Boston Tea Party, Paul Jones, the Battle of Bunker Hill, Ben Franklin's arrival in Philadelphia, and the courtship of George Washington. The children depicted in these illustrations are plump and rosy-cheeked and have meticulous costuming. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall .
