A Child's History of England by Dickens Charles - 1902

New York: McLoughlin Brothers, 1902. Pictorial cloth hardcover with Tower of London depicted on front cover, 160 pages, floral endpapers, color frontispiece of Queen Elizabeth signing Mary's death warrant, illustrated in black & white, the illustrations have the name of Patten Wilson and the date of 1902 on them so I dated this copy as 1902 although there is no date on title page or verso, the chromolithograph frontispiece has no artist name on it, there seems to be a stylized initial on the front cover decoration but I can not tell what the letters are because it is somewhat abstract, the book has many black and white illustrations as well as stylized initial chapter letters, corners show very light wear, minimal soil, a very nice clean tight copy, gift inscription nicely written on back of frontis reads "To Oliver from Aunt Sadie Christmas 1906." . Early Edition. Decorative Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Patten Wilson. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
