NY & Tokyo: Harper & Bros, 1899. Book. Illus. by Folding Map, Diagrams, Frontispiece. Near Fine. Cloth. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. An exceptionally clean copy. Gilt on spine and front bright. Clean and tight inside and out. Three color, folding maps in a rear pocket, in addition to one attached to the text. The author was the London Times correspondent in China for some years. This is the second of several printings, one year after the first. .
