Jenner, French first edition was from Editions du Seuil 1970. Author was a French diplomat, posted in China 1965-68. This is an exceptional work because it is an eye-witness account, supplemented by research of the unofficial press that flourished in China during the period." Mass-market paperback, moderate creases and soil to wraps, 1/4" tear in front wrap along fore-edge and continuing as smaller tear to front matter pages, 1/4" split at front bottom of spine, edges and end papers soiled and age-toned, binding tight.
