Bound in burgundy cloth with silver lettering stamped on spine. Front pastedown lightly foxed, top-edge and fore-edge foxed. In the illustrated dust jacket that has a couple stains on spine, and is price clipped. A study of the generation that ruled imperial China and eventually lost all when their society collapsed under strain from decadence and, following republicanism, the force of Communist cadres. With heavy emphasis on the examination process. Dust jacket is now preserved within a clear, removable archival sleeve.
