About This Item
Sherburne, NY: Heritage Press, 1966. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. A near fine copy in a very good mylar-covered dustjacket. No writing whatsoever. Many interesting stories about the early days of upstate New York. One particular story is about a "white" Indian who was really French, but had been spared his life after being captured because an Oneida widow wanted him for a husband. She was fat and ugly and he tried to run away, but ended up living with the Oneida tribe the rest of his life because they treated him with great humanity. This book is a great read..
