Paris,: Edition Hippocrate,, 1936.. 121, [vii] pp. Large 8vo (17 x 25.5 pp.). Original printed wrappers (slightly discoloured, top of spine slightly rubbed), uncut. With 1 frontispiece and 1 plate. ** Jan Yperman, a pupil of Lanfranc, became the first and great authority on surgery in the Low Countries during the 14th century. Yperman was amongst the first who wrote a medical account in vernacular. The codex was discovered by J.F. Willems in 1836 (in the rich library of Charles van Hulthem). Garrison & Morton 5555.
