London: Methuen & Co, 1898. Book. Illus. by 5 maps & plans, plenty of full page photos. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Original red cloth with bright gilt title on the frontand the slightly faded spine. Slight edgewear, mostly at the head of the spine. Several prior owner names on the front endpaper. Inside, very clean and tight. The plan of Reshun , supposed to be at page 128, is at 132. The folding map at the rear is of the Gilgit to Kabul area, in very good condition with a tiny hole. An excellent story of British interlopers being harassed by the Afghans. And the Afghans have been fighting off occupiers ever since, as you know. .
