Christian Philosopher: xii+314+(1)(author list), 23 figs, 3 with tissue guards (actually 2 are numbered as fig.5); viii+333+(1)(author list), figs 24-55; Philosophy of Religion: x+384, all edges marbled; eminent historian of science R.M.Young's dated sigs. top fr.free endpapers, fr.gutter Ch.Ph. Vol.1 cracked, the rest sound, all vols internally clean, tight & otherwise unmarked bar some edge browning to pastedowns & some endpapers. Uniformaly bound in black leather & marbled boards, generally clean, moderately worn with rubbing to some extremeties, most edges and, slightly, to some joints & sp.ends, also occ.sl.surface rubbing to marbled boards, Ch.Phil.Vol.2 has short split top fr.joint, Vol.1 has lost sm. section of marbling alongside top fr.joint (5 cms x 0.5-1.00 cm) exposing underlying leather. Despite flaws this remains attractive 3 vol.set of these best-selling works. Editions unstated, but Christian Philosopher (1st-1824) has Preface to 10th ed.(1846). Unravelling the bibliography of these works is a task I am disinclined to embark upon right now!
