Book is tight, square, and unmarked for F/O name in pencil and price in ink in Rupees on the FFFP. Yellow linen-like boards with brown cloth overlay on the spine with a title on the front board in light brown as part of the board papers. Clean internals; internal hinges are sound and not split. 223 pp 8vo. This is a personal narrative by the Indian journalist D.F. Karaka about the struggle of the Chinese people against the Japanese invaders during the Second World War. It is a remarkable book about the month Karaka spent in the war time capital of China, a country which the British foreign secretary Sir John Simon once described as “a mere geographical expression”. A clean very presentable copy.
