First published 1837, Burlington, Vermont. Hopkins was the first Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Vermont, and a prominent clergyman of the day who delivered the eulogy at the funeral of President Ulysses S. Grant. Armorial bookplate, and book label, "with the author's respects" on free endpaper, clean and bright copy.
