About This Item

Great Britain shunned opportunities to end the war because it sought to dismember Germany not merely destroy Hitler. Hitler wanted a pact that would return his Western conquests in exchange for Germany's interest in the East. Churchill stoked Hitler's obsessive desire for peace with Britain to build defences and when all seemed lost he invited Rudolf Hess to England to attend a peace conference. 335 pages with 8 pages of black and white photographs. Book in very good condition ex library with stamp and number on last page and sticker inside back cover. Dust jacket in good condition in clear wrapper with sticker on spine and back and tear on back.
