London: Longmans, Green & Co., 1895. Hardcover. Very Good. Shelf wear to tips, corners, and edges of the book, previous owner's name to the front endpaper. A nineteenth century re-telling of the legend of El Cid, Campeador, (literally The Lord, Master of the Battlefield) a popular folk legend of Spain told and retold since the 12th century recounting the struggle of the Christian Spanish against the occupying Moors who ruled much of Spain from 711 to 1492. El Cid commanded armies for both sides at various times. Books and other items ship promptly with a tracking number and (generally over $15.00) jacket protectors if applicable. Clean recycled packing material will be used when possible. The Book Shed has a been a member of the Vermont Antiquarian Bookseller's Association since 1997.
