About This Item
NY: Kensington Pub Corp, 1998. First. Hard Cover. Fine/fine. First printing. Fine in fine dust jacket. The fifth in this clever, highly enertaining series of mysteries featuring major league baseball player Mickey Rawlings, a bench warmer who becomes embroiled in murder and mystery. In this entry, Rawlings has been traded to the Cincinnati Reds where he becomes involved in the murder of a club employee who is planning a museum exhibit honoring the 1869 Red Sockings, baseball's first professional team. Key pieces of memoribilia from that team are stolen and as Rawlings tracks them down, it becomes dangerously apparent that he's getting closer to the killer.
