London: George Bell, 1883 Second edition, revised. Hardcover book . Brown cloth, with gilt title to spine, stamped decorative borders, no dustjacket. 462pp + adverts. Tissue guarded engraved frontispiece from drawing by S. (Samuel?) Prout, 8 engraved plates, and 2 folding maps. Very Good: covers and pages clean and bright, light edge rubbing; flyleaf and adjoining half-title page are detached (present), with front hinge cracked; tissue guard foxed, with some light foxing to frontispiece. Pictures available.
