A  limited edition copy of this work, limited to five hundred copies with this being copy number 106. A new and revised edition of The Civil War in Hampshire (1642-45) and the Story of Basing House by the Rev G. N. Godwin, author of Green Lanes of Hampshire. This volume traces the important role of the county of Hampshire in the struggle between Charles I and his Parliament, focusing on the siege of Portsmouth, the Isle of Wight, Arundel and Chichester and Basing House specifically. The volume is illustrated with seven plates and a frontispiece. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with some light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and some fading to the hinge. Bookplate for Michael Matanos to the front pastedown. Internally generally firmly bound with the preface, contents and illustrations contents pages loose but present. Page are bright and generally clean. Very Good
