New Edition (c1830's) of the Clavis Homerica, being a lexicon of all the words which appear in the Iliad, with English translations/interpretations; long considered an indispensable Homeric text, this new edition by John Walker seeks to address deficiencies and errors of earlier editions; please note: no title page or prelims are present with this volume (apart from the preface/advertisement); the former owner has written in pencil 'John Walker c1830' and 'Whittaker Treacher London', ie the publisher - Walker's name, publishing date, and publisher are all consistent; full calf with red title label and gilt titling to spine; leather generally worn and rubbed, prelims and title page removed, text block rubbed and foxed, scattered foxing throughout, o.w. Good.
