About This Item

The First UK printing published by Faber, London in 1952. The BOOK is in Very Good++ or better condition. Small: 12.5 x 15.5 cm. Some very light pushing and fading at the extreme spine tips and corners. One small mark to the front board. Internally clean with just a little offsetting to the blank end-papers. The scarce WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good+ condition. A little loss and rubbing at the spine ends and some tiny losses at the corners. Light edge wear with a few nicks, creasing and light rubbing in places. Two closed tears to the front lower edge and rear upper edge have had small repairs to the verso. A small closed tear to the upper front flap fold. The wrapper remains striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. Profusely illustrated throughout in five colours by Dorothy Craigie. The first title of the 'Clever Polly' series and very scarce with such attributes. More images available on request. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
