About This Item

Vancouver, BC, Canada: Douglas & McIntyre, 1982. 4to size trade paperback; 212 heavyweight glossy pages to this photo essay of more than 200 black and white photos, photo illustrated endpapers. Brief author biographies on the back cover. From back cover: "Dozens of communities (in the British Columbia coast in Canada) exist, and the life and work of their people reflect a powerful environment. The potency of the sea - its incalculable gifts and its moody beauty: this is elusive prey for the camera. Equally varied and yet equally distinctive is the social environment of the coast. Her are families whose ancestors have fished the Pacific water for thousand of years and whose village sites have a grip like 20-generation old heroic tales. Covers have edgewear and light wear. There is a light stain on the bottom margin of the book up to page 37. There also appears to be some very light foxing on the first few pages and the last page. This book weighs more than 2 pounds. No extra shipping charges if sent via US Media Mail. Dealer Direct Payment Only.. Trade Paperback. Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
