Newcastle Upon Tyne; George Rutland, 1864., 1864. Hardcover. LIMITED EDITION. Number 21 of 50 large-paper copies of the FIRST EDITION. Quarto. xv, 312 pp. Etched plates on India paper and mounted, woodcut and wood engraved illustrations and ornaments, a few of which are hand-coloured. Tissue guards. Book Condition: Near Fine. Modern green half-morocco by Sangorski & Sutcliffe with 5 raised bands, gilt titles to spine and gilt angling motifs to compartments. Top edge gilt; marbled endpapers. A little light foxing mainly to final leaves otherwise a fine copy. Rare, only 50 copies of the large paper edition were printed. The common standard paper edition is often confused with the limited edition as it contains an advertisement leaf for the limited edition opposite the title page.
