About This Item
The original edition of Louis Fagan's Collectors' Marks was published in London in 1883. The present editors decided to reprint the original with the addition of an appendix of more recent marks. As their plans developed, World War I intervened and censorship restrictions placed an embargo on any communications that included marks or ciphers. As a result the appendix could only be offered in a "fragmentary and incomplete state."
