Collision Bend; Agatha Raisin and the Murderous Marriage; Dream of a Fallen Eagle

The Detective Book Club produced volumes of three crime novels from 1942 to 1999. Originally monthly, near the end they dwindled down to just a few per year. Many famous detective and crime novelists had their early works featured in DBC editions. Often, books were published in DBC editions before, or at the same time as they were published in mass market form. A little about our authors:

Les Roberts: Roberts turned to mystery writing after a 24 year career in Hollywood as a writer for shows such as Man from U.N.C.L.E., Andy Griffith Show, Jackie Gleason Show, and Hollywood Squares. He produced two mystery series, featuring Saxon (6) and Milan Jacovich (19), plus three additional novels. This is the seventh Milan Jacovich novel.

M. C. Beaton: One of seven pen names used by Marion Chesney. Under this name, she released her two longest mystery series, both containing 34 books. These were the well known Hamish Macbeth series and the even more well known Agatha Raisin series. Along with these 68 books, Chesney, under one name or another, has published over 160 additional titles. Murdrerous Marriage is the fifth Agatha Raisin novel.

George Chesbro: Chesbro wrote more than 25 novels and almost 100 short stories. His best known sleuth was Robert "Mongo the Magnificent" Fredrickson, often aided by his brother Garth. Mongo was his stage name in the circus, where he was an acrobat. Mongo also has dwarfism, which makes him rather unique in the hard boiled detective world. Chesbro wrote eleven other novels as well. Chesbro died in 2008. This is the final Mongo Mystery.
