Excerpt from Colonial and Revolutionary History of Upper South Carolina "As research continued and data gathering progressed, it became more and more evident that a comprehensive history of Spartanburg County, would necessarily include an extensive review of all of upper South Carolina and much of North Carolina, thus requiring more space than could be crowded into one volume, and a two-volume plan was therefore adopted; the first, devoted in general to the Colonial and Revolutionary History of the upper portion of South Carolina, but principally, to Spartanburg County, and the second, to a history of Spartanburg County proper, from its organization in 1785, to the present time."<br><br>CONDITION: Front cover is off.
