Hardcover without dust jacket, "Second Edition---1932", xiii + 243 pages, plus a 16-page listing of Methuen's "The Gateway Library"; elegant little book in red cloth covers with stained and dust speckled top edge gilt, author's signature in bright and clear gilt on front cover, spine gilt lettering faded but legible, overall gently used, not abused, but showing its age, light to moderate shelf wear to cover edges, corners and spine ends, tight in binding, beautifully written ink signature on free front endpaper, text pages age toned as always but clean and unmarked. See also our listings for Chesterton's Selected Stories, an extremely scarce edition published by Progress Publishers, Moscow, 1971 (all stories in English with additional features in Russian), and his equally scarce Come to Think of It: A Book of Essays..
