Contemporary half leather binding, worn at extremities. Albert Arnoux, alias Bertall (1820-1882) the famous French illustrator took his pen name from Balzac, the books of whom he illustrated. He was a prolific humorist, satirist, and illustrator. In this book he explores in witty words and sketches the: fashions, habits, foibles, conceits, delusions, customs, manners, etc. of the era.
