Imprinted for Tilt and Bogue, Bibliopolists, London, 1842. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Cruikshank, George. Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Previous owner's name in ink on front fly leaf. Red gilt-stamped half leather and marbled paper over boards, bound by Root & Son, 5 raised bands, top edge gilt, marbled end papers, 64 pages, "adorned with numerous humorous illustrations" by George Cruikshank. Wear on corners and edges of spine, front hinge cracked from top to middle, paper damage on page 7 affecting some of the text, rear hinge cracked between pages 62/63, some offsetting on pages that face illustrations.
