Black and white photograph of author to the verso of the half title page. Paperback binding with black coloured title to the front panel and back strip. Margaret Mead's anthropological study of adolescents, girls, and their sexual habits in Samoa in the 1920s. Her most famous, and, one of the most influential anthropological works of the twentieth century, has been highly criticised and contradicted by subsequent research by other anthropologists. Pelican Books  A 127. This book is showing age and use. A little creasing of the book corners with chipping along the edges of the front panel, and back strip edges. There is a 1.75 " split to the top right-hand corner of the back strip. Sunning and foxing to the book panels, particularly the back strip. Uniform tanning and a little foxing of the text block edges and pages. Previous owner's rubber stamp to the top right-hand corner of the half title page. First softcover edition.
