About This Item

London: J. M. Dent & Sons Ltd, 1953 . First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Very Good Indeed. 9" by 5.5". Robert Gibbings. The first edition of this travel journal by the British author Robert Gibbings with his engravings throughout. First edition of Coming Down the Seine by Robert Gibbings in the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. A lovely travel work densely illustrated throughout the text with engravings by the author. Robert Gibbings was an Irish artist and author, best known for his wood engravings and travel writing.  In the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart. There is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. To the dust wrapper, there is some minor wear to the extremities, including some small tears and creases, and some age toning. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are very bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
