Amsterdam. Henrici and Viduae Theodori Boom. 1705. Bound in full paneled vellum. Blind embossed vignettes to head and tail pieces. Raised bands. Gilt titled morocco label. Very thick 4to (22 cm). Illustrated by five copper engravings depicting: types of knives used to slaughter sacrificial animals; priest removing the internal organs of a lamb; folded map of Northern Egypt, Sinai peninsula and Judea, indicating proposed route of the Exodus; man being burned at the stake; man being beaten to death by an executioner. Icludes two odes, the first by Alexander Arnold Pagenstecher, and the second by Adamus Menso Lsing. Text in LAtin with Quotations and examples in Greek and Hebrew with Latin Translation. Includes indicies. Covers bowed (as usual with vellum bindings). Spine label delicately chipped. A very few instances of usual marginal page chipping, not intruding to text or image. Some usual darkening to pages. generally, a Near Fine, exceedingly crisp copy.
