No. 398 of 500 copies signed by the publisher, John Murray. Two volumes. Quarto. ix, 293p; vii, 283p. Beautifully printed in red and black on fine deckle-edge paper by the Chiswick Press. Bound by Bradstreet in full brown crushed morocco with marbled endpapers, t.e.g., the spines titles in gilt in three panels, the other panels with a series of three ruled frames with dots on the corners and on the bands, the covers also with borders of three rules with corner dots, the dentelles with floral corner pieces. Original wrappers bound in. Tipped in to Vol. I is a typescript of "A Lyric of Joy" signed by Carman in 1893 and an ALs signed by Carman dated 2 Feb. 1892 submitting a manuscript to the publisher I. D. Marshall.
Tipped into Vol. II is a two-page ALs signed by Carman and dated 24 May 1902, a letter to G. S. Lockwood of the Bank of Commerce, Cleveland, OH regarding his "Ode on the Coronation of King Edward VII", with envelope
Bliss Carman was acclaimed Canada's poet laureate during his later years.
