The dust jacket of the Occupation is the only one which is not price clipped. The dust jacket of the Demonstration has a stippled the front panel of the dustwrapper and of the front board, leaving both with the impression of being pockmarked.. A political play, part of a three work whole, the other two parts being The Illusion (a long essay) & The Occupation (a novel), each part is autonomous and can be read (or, in the case of the The Demonstration, performed) without reference to the other parts. Nevertheless all three question the role of the writer and political action, arguing that content is not something which exists to be packaged in this way or that, and as a result of the mediation between subject and form; and that any committed writer must be sharply aware of this.
