London: William Heinemann, 1924. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 5 x 7 1/2 in. Blank pg, half title pg, title pg, dedication pg, contents pg, "Book 1" pg, plus 336 pp of text, plus rfep. Red cloth with gilt title, author's name on spine with "Heinemann" at tail. Blindstamped windmill at lower rear cover. The copyright pg reads: "First published 1924", followed by: "Printed in Great Britain by the London and Norwich Press, Limited, St. Giles' Works, Norwich." See our photograph of the half title pg. A scarce first edition. Condition is VERY GOOD ; corners and ends of spine bumped with mild wear, some small closed tears at spine ends, a bit longer at the head with some slight fraying. Covers clean but rubbed with a few faint paler stains to rear. Spine is lightly sunned with slight toning, and the gilt readable but not very bright. There is a small dent with a closed tear in the center of the spine. The binding is tight and the text very clean and bright, with no internal markings. Endpapers are very mildly foxed/toned. Fiction. RGR.
