An early exampleof Dore's work.3/4 brown calf over marbled boards. Spine & corner tips have been skillfully rebacked over original boards. Text block is tight & intact. Marbled page edges with marbled endpapers. (xxxi, 614pp) . Light edge wear. About 20 leaves have a small front margin stain; otherwise text is quite clean & bright. Rear marbled endpaper has a few small front edge chips. Early owner's sinature. French text. Literature; Engraved Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 614 pages .
