London and Edinburgh: Gall and Inglis, 1906. Hardcover. 12mo, 848 pages. In Good plus condition. Bound in the publisher's red cloth bearing gilt lettering to the spine. Boards have mild wear exteriorly including lightly sunned spine, minor wear to the edges and cocking to the spine. Tiny hole through the rear board. Text block has edges colored red. Slight offsetting to front end papers. Tiny hole through several pages to the rear. Very minor foxing interiorly. Hairline crack to gutter at pages one to two and one hundred fifty six. Black paper adhered to the rear pastedown title "Slate". Frontispiece. Profusely illustrated.
