About Fine/near fine. 160pp. A very clean copy, with only a scrawled 1974 ownership name to the front free endpaper and slight toning to the closed edges. In the original binding of light brown cloth, spine titled gilt. Corners sharp, foot of spine faintly blunted. In the protected dust jacket with its geometric design. This has a small closed tear and some toning at the spine foot, and is slightly knocked at the spine head: it is otherwise about Fine. A very nice copy of her epoch-defining book.

JAN MORRIS (1926–), is Anglo-Welsh and lives in Wales. Educated at Oxford, and a member of the British Army, she has written over forty books, most recently, The World: Life and Travel, 1950-2000.
