London (22, Berners Street): James Nisbet and Co, 1913. Hardcover. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Scott, Septimus E. xii, 340pp. with tipped in colour plate frontispiece with overprinted tissue guard, and seven further tipped in colour plate illustrations, with captioned tissue guards. In a later binding of full red leather, with gilt decorations and five raised bands on spine, top edge gilt. Richly marbled endpapers. (Small rub on lower edge of front board, slight darkening to ungilded text block edges, short crack at top of gutter). A truly handsome volume, remarkably clean and bright with gorgeous illustrations - an heirloom volume that would make an excellent gift. A large and heavy volume which will incur an additional charge for overseas delivery.
Synopsis
The Coral Island is a novel written by Scottish juvenile fiction author R.M. Ballantyne. It was voted as one of the top twenty Scottish novels in the 2006 15th International World Wide Web Conference.
