(The hermit), head and tail pieces, initials. Text in Latin. Bound in contemporary calf, covers with three gilt rule borders, back stamped in blind, marbled end papers and edges, the bookplate of J. G. Leath, M.D., Coll. Reg. Med Lond. at front paste down. Very Good, front joint broken yet board holding nicely, rear joint starting, spine dulled, light rubbing at corners, Leath's name in ink twice and a 1709 dated inscription in ink at front and title pages. Internally clean, tight and unmarked. Cornelius Celsus' "De Medicina" was written in the first century and is considered the best surviving treatise on Alexandrian medicine.. Willems 797; Copinger 874.. First Elsevier Edition . Calf. Very Good. 24mo - over 5" - 5¾" tall.
