Uniform interior toning, or, off-white paper stock used. Front cover has lower 2 inches sun-fade. Quarter-inch right side cover surface tear.. 1 103 p. Includes illustrations. Brown cloth and mottled tan paper over boards showing small Pen&Ink artwork w/ light green, front, and styled titles. 9x12in. Historic architecture in finely crafted Pen & Ink, each with several paragraphs of related text. George D. Laswell was Staff Artist for the Providence Journal and Evening Bulletin. Pages 4-103 are dedicated to companion pages, full page art on right-hand pages, text on left; an attractive layout. Many of the renditions include people passing by, giving life to the images. A frontispiece Pen&Ink portrait of Laswell carries another artist's imbedded signature, "ReRai" perhaps. "Vol. 1" on spine for planned collection.
